Modular Schools Solution

Schools usually require large structural grid spacings to allow for flexibility in layout and future change. The modular schools solution provides two alternative designs giving either

• clear spans of up to 15m without internal columns or walls
• clear spans of up to 10m with central corridor walls, allowing total flexibility of internal classroom layouts

The system uses pre-finished external insulated sandwich-panel construction to provide both structural support and architectural cladding. By the use of innovative structural design solutions together with modern composite panel technologies, the maximum benefit is gained in speed and economical construction.

Design benefits include:

• Economical structural layouts permitting flexibility for future use
• Pre-finished brick elevations in a variety of architectural styles
• Durable accommodation permitting the omission of suspended ceilings, which, in turn, reduces ongoing maintenance costs
• Thermal mass of the concrete can be used to offset the effects of temperature changes and hence reduce service costs
• Integrated ground beams within the panels negate the requirement for separate foundation support
