HOTELS Cross-Wall Construction
Hotel construction uses a technique of flat-pack building components referred to as cross-wall construction. The system comprises vertically cast division walls with optional external grey concrete inner leaf or sandwich panel construction.
The objective of cross-wall is to reduce wet trades and create early "dry box" working for subsequent trades.
Features incorporated into the cross-wall construction system of building include
- Direct decorative finish to walls with only minor pre-decoration treatment, negating the requirements for wet plaster
- Solid room-sized slabs, pre-finished for direct ceiling decoration and direct placement of carpet without the requirement for screeds
- Reduced structural zone without downstands
- Construction of stairs and lift cores as the erection progresses permitting early access for subsequent trades
- Pre-fitted windows
